Fort Worth residents have some exciting news: the Mobile Tool Shed program is expanding, making free tool loans available to every household across the city!
What began as a pilot program in just three neighborhoods has now been approved by City Council to operate citywide, giving all Fort Worth residents access to essential property maintenance tools — at no cost.
“I am very excited for the citywide expansion of our Mobile Tool Shed,” said Code Compliance Director Brian Daugherty. “Our citizens now have access to the resources to fix their code violations or beautify their home with just a few clicks.”
How It Works
The Mobile Tool Shed makes it easy for residents to borrow tools like:
Lawn mowers
String trimmers
Edgers
Power washers
And other yard maintenance tools
By removing financial and transportation barriers, the program helps homeowners maintain and beautify their properties, promoting healthier, safer, and more vibrant neighborhoods.
“Keeping Fort Worth beautiful starts at home,” Daugherty added. “By giving residents free access to tools, we’re not only helping people maintain their yards, we’re also investing in the health and safety of our neighborhoods.”
Tool Checkout & Delivery
The process is simple:
Sign up online or call 817-392-1234 to schedule your delivery.
Tools are delivered on Fridays and picked up the following Monday, giving you the whole weekend to complete your project.
Tools are available first-come, first-served, so early reservations are encouraged.
The Fort Worth Mobile Tool Shed is funded by the City of Fort Worth with support from community partners like Home Depot, Lowe’s, Walmart, and other local organizations.
