September is when Fort Worth really starts to feel like fall is on the way. While the temperatures may still have a little summer left in them, the calendar is packed with festivals, live music, art, food, family-friendly events and plenty of reasons to get out and explore Fort Worth and the surrounding communities.

Whether you're looking for a night out with friends, something fun to do with the kids, or an excuse to celebrate the arrival of fall, here are some of the events worth putting on your September calendar.
September 12–13, 2026 | Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Grab your four-legged best friend and head to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden for Dog Days! Dogs are welcome throughout the Garden during regular hours, with hydration stations available throughout the property. Admission is regular Garden admission for humans, plus $5 per dog, while FWBG members and their pups get in free. Just remember your leash and plenty of water, and be prepared for a fun day exploring the Garden together.
🌿 Enchanted Garden at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Beginning September 12, 2026 | Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Looking for something that feels a little more magical? Enchanted Garden returns to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden beginning September 12 and runs through November 30. It's a great way to experience the Garden in a completely different atmosphere as fall gets underway.
September 19–20, 2026 | Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Celebrate Hispanic heritage, culture and community during ¡Celebramos! at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Saturday kicks off with a free admission day, including a Latin American Flag Parade, followed by the ¡Celebramos! Garden Fiesta that evening with food, drinks, dancing and live music. Sunday brings a Family Fun & Wellness Day with activities including lotería, bounce houses, games, chalk art and more.
September 26, 2026 | Best Maid Pickle Emporium, Fort Worth
Celebrate 100 years of Best Maid Pickles at this free Centennial Block Party in Fort Worth’s Near Southside! The day will feature free pickle tastings, food trucks, a DJ, family-friendly activities, contests, giveaways, photo opportunities and plenty of pickle-themed fun. The party runs from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., so come hungry and ready to celebrate a Fort Worth tradition that has been around since 1926.
September 19–20, 2026 | Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Spend the weekend shopping local at the 6th Annual Mariposa Market at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden! Hosted in the beautifully shaded Carter’s Grove, the free, family-friendly market features up to 50 local artisan vendors, live music, festive dancers, a petting zoo, face painting, a Kid Zone and more. The market runs 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, with free parking and no admission required to attend the market. On Saturday, September 19, the Garden is also offering free admission to the entire 120-acre campus, making it a perfect day to shop, explore and enjoy the Garden.
September 24–26, 2026 | Trinity Park
Yes, Oktoberfest really does arrive in Fort Worth in September! Fort Worth Oktoberfest is a three-day celebration of German culture featuring Bavarian food and bier, live entertainment, polka bands, festival tents, contests, carnival rides, dachshund races, stein-hoisting and more.
The festival takes place at Trinity Park, with the main parking area at Farrington Field. It runs Thursday through Saturday, with Saturday offering the longest day of festivities.
September 27, 2026 | Settlement to City Museums, Grapevine
Head over to Grapevine for a sweet way to spend a Sunday afternoon. At Sundae Funday, families can learn how to churn their own ice cream like generations before them, then enjoy lawn games and some old-fashioned fun.
The event runs from 2–4 p.m. and costs $10 per person.
September 17–20, 2026 | Historic Main Street, Grapevine
One of the biggest September events in the area is the 40th Annual GrapeFest – A Texas Wine Experience. Historic Main Street transforms into a four-day celebration featuring wine tastings, live entertainment, food, shopping, kid-friendly activities and plenty of opportunities to raise a glass.
GrapeFest takes place September 17–20, with free admission all day Thursday and Friday until 5 p.m. Adult admission is $12 after that, with children's and senior admission available for $6.
September 12, 2026 | Historic Nash Farm, Grapevine
Car enthusiasts won't want to miss ItalianCarFest on September 12. The event features more than 90 modern and classic Italian automobiles and serves as the annual kickoff to GrapeFest weekend. Admission is free and the event runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
